Hot Tubs

Hot tubs were a huge fad of the nineties and they’re making a comeback. In Canada, where the weather’s miserable and icy cold for most of the year, it doesn’t really make sense to have an outdoor swimming pool because you rarely get to use it. A hot tub, on the other hand, can be used year round. You can have a hot tub installed indoors or outdoors. If you have a fairly private back yard and enough space, a hot tub outside can be a lot of fun, even when the weather’s cold. If you live in a cold place, nothing beats going snowboarding or tobogganing and going home to relax in your hot tub afterwards. If you’ve ever used a hot tub, you know how soothing and relaxing the hot water jets can be. You can buy hot tubs of all different sizes that fit anywhere from two to ten or more people at a time. Hot tubs, like swimming pools, don’t take care of themselves. A hot tub needs regular maintenance and you’ll have to monitor levels of various chemicals to ensure it stays clean. Keeping your hot tub clean is so important because it’s full of warm water and makes an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. The last thing you want is for your hot tub to look like a cesspool when you invite your friends over for a hot tub party.

Hot Tub Parties

Another thing that hot tubs are great for is hot tub parties. You can invite friends to lounge in your hot tub after an evening of partying or your soccer team after a game. If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t despair; many condos have hot tubs in the building for use by residents. These hot tubs are great because you don’t have to maintain them yourself. The only down side is that you have to share a hot tub with a whole building full of people. However, a lot of times these hot tubs are rarely used by residents. There are two hot tubs in my building, both in the rooftop but one hot tub is outside and one hot tub is indoors. The great thing is that nobody uses the hot tubs so me and my friends usually have the hot tub to ourselves. In the summer we use the outdoor hot tub and have a great view of the whole city from the roof top. In the winter we use the indoor hot tub and watch movies. There’s a big screen TV next to the hot tub on the wall where we go to watch the soccer.

Portable Hot Tubs

I’ve never heard of portable hot tubs. I can’t imagine that they’d be all that portable though. Can you take you hot tub to a friends house or is your portable hot tub only portable if you have a crane on hand? I suppose if you’re really fond of your hot tub, you could bring it with you when you move house, but it seems it would be easier, and probably cheaper, to just buy a new hot tub. Your hot tub will likely increase the selling price of your house and you can use the money to get a new hot tub. Whatever the case, portable hot tubs exist if that’s what you’re looking for.

Discount hot Tubs

If you’re looking for discount hot tubs, you might have a tough time finding them. A hot tub is a luxury item and you’d have a tough time convincing anyone otherwise. If you absolutely have to have a hot tub, you’ll have to pay for it. You can get hot tubs on sale but they’re by no means cheap. You could buy a used portable hot tub if you wanted and might be able to save a bit of money if it didn’t cost to much to transport it. Another option, if you can’t find a discount hot tub shop, is to build a hot tub yourself. It’s really not that hard if you just do a little research or buy a ‘how to build a discount hot tub’ book. If you’re good at it, you may find yourself building and selling discount hot tubs. In college, I built a discount hot tub in my living room with some friends that I lived with. I lived with four engineers, which made the job quite quick and easy. We had a lot of fun tiling the inside of the hot tub. Of course, the discount hot tub we built ruined our harwood floors in the living room and our landlord was not pleased. He thanked us later when he realized how much rent students are willing to pay to have a discount hot tub in their living room. Installing a discount hot tub in your living room is one thing, but having a barbecue inside your home is a fire hazard and is generally a bad idea. Canadoian winters can be miserable, so it’s nice to have a discount hot tub in your living room for those days you don’t want to go outside, but there’s really no reason to bring the barbecue inside. It’s not fun barbecuing in the snow but it can be done, and when you have a discount hot tub to jump into afterwards, there’s really no reason for having a barbecue inside your house. If you’re going to build a discount hot tub inside your home, it’s good to have a friend who knows a thing or two about plumbing, and a mechanical engineer, if you can find one. Otherwise, a little common sense and the right tools are all you need to build your own discount hot tub.
